Apprentice Spotlight: Becoming an Immersive Media Designer at benntec –
Featured in "Handelskammer Magazin"

Immersive media are transforming how we learn, train, and experience digital environments.
Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and interactive 3D applications have become
an integral part of modern training and simulation solutions.

This makes it all the more important to educate and train skilled professionals in this
emerging field.

Our apprentice Jeimy Natalia Medina Otero is featured in the latest issue of Bremen’s "Handelskammer Magazin", offering readers an inside look at one of Germany’s newest
officially recognized training professions: Immersive Media Design.

A New Career Path with a Promising Future

The apprenticeship program for Immersive Media Designers was introduced across Germany
in 2023. It combines creative design with technological implementation, making it ideal for
creative minds with a strong interest in technology who want to do more than just use digital
worlds — they want to build them.

During the program, apprentices gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

• Developing interactive VR and AR applications
• 3D modeling and animation
• Working with game engines
• Designing and creating virtual learning and training environments
• Implementing simulation-based scenarios

At benntec, apprenticeships are closely linked to real-world projects from day one. Natalia
is already contributing to innovative applications during her apprenticeship, including virtual training environments and simulation-based projects in security-related contexts.

Immersive media offer enormous potential for professional education and training. Investing
in the development of young talent is therefore an important part of our company strategy, and
we are proud to be one of the first companies in Northern Germany to offer apprenticeships
in this field.
